How to Dispute a Bad Google Local Services Lead
Part of: How to Set Up Google Local Services Ads, with every related question linked.
Google now handles credits for bad Local Services Ads leads automatically: its models assess every lead when the customer makes contact, invalid or low-quality leads are not charged, and charged leads are reassessed later. Credits are usually applied within 30 days, and the original charge still appears on your invoice. Each lead in your account carries one of four statuses: not charged, charged, in review, or credited. If you receive a lead you believe should not have been charged, the right place to flag it is the Lead Feedback Survey inside your account.
One important limit: Google no longer credits leads marked as 'job type not serviced' or 'geo not serviced'. If you are regularly receiving leads for work you do not do or locations you do not serve, the fix is to tighten your job types and service areas in your account settings, not to report those leads after the fact. Getting your targeting right before you scale your budget is the most reliable way to avoid paying for contacts that will never convert. For a framework on following every lead from first contact to a signed job, see our lead follow-up guide, and the full LSA setup walkthrough is at the Google Local Services Ads setup page.
