AI tools for roofing companies: one tool per job, with real costs

The AI tools I run at Receipts Group, one job each: CRM, call notes, SEO, ads, video. What each costs today, where to sign up, and how to hook them into Claude.

So this is the stack I actually run at Receipts Group: one AI tool for each job in a roofing or home-service company, the plan I'd start on, what it costs today, and where to sign up. Seven jobs. Ads get two tools, because I use both.

What makes it work is that they're all hooked into Claude Code, so I'm not logging into seven apps after dinner. I just ask: which leads didn't get a text back, what did I promise on yesterday's calls, how are the Meta ads doing this week. Below is every step to set that up, one tool at a time, with the free ones first, and a stop for your yes before anything costs money or reaches a customer.

And the one job none of them do? Answer the phone at 7 PM. That's still your booker's job, and it's at the bottom.

Start herepart 1

Start here: paste this into Claude Code

Get Claude Pro and install Claude Code first (two minutes, in Step 1 below). Then make a folder, start Claude in it, and paste the prompt. It asks which tools you have, connects them one at a time, and waits for your yes before anything spends a credit or texts a customer.

bashMake the folder and start Claude in it
mkdir -p ~/ai-stack
cd ~/ai-stack
claude
PromptThe setup prompt (copy all of it)
Hi Claude. Please be my patient setup helper. I run a roofing / home-service company and I'm not technical, so use plain words, short sentences, one step at a time, and wait for me after each step.

Goal: connect the AI tools I pick to you, in this folder, so I can ask you about my leads, my calls, my SEO and my ads instead of logging into each app. Follow this guide; it's the source of truth for every step, every command and every price:
https://receiptsgroup.com/guides/ai-tool-for-every-job

The tools in the guide (I'll tell you which ones I have or want):
- GoHighLevel: my CRM and follow-up texts
- Fireflies: notes from my calls
- Ahrefs: SEO, what a competitor ranks for that I don't (needs the Lite plan or higher)
- Pipeboard: my Meta ads (and Google Ads if I want)
- Kling and Higgsfield: images and videos for ads (they spend credits)
- HeyGen: videos of me without filming (spends credits)

Steps:
1. Ask me which of these tools I already pay for and which I want to try. Don't assume. Then explain in two sentences what an MCP is (a connector that lets you use another app with my login) and what a credit is.
2. Check Claude Code works here (claude --version). Then write CLAUDE.md in this folder from the guide's box, and show it to me before you save it.
3. For each tool I picked, one at a time: tell me what I need first (the account, the plan), give me the exact command from the guide's "Connect the tools" section, and wait while I run it. Slash commands like /mcp are mine to type, not yours: tell me when to type /mcp, which tool to pick, and that the sign-in happens in my browser.
4. After each one, check it shows up (claude mcp list, or /mcp) before we move to the next.
5. The free first test from the guide: read-only questions only. Nothing gets sent, changed or generated.
6. Then show me the guide's "Real use" prompts for the tools I connected, and let me pick one.

Rules:
- If you use a technical word, explain it in plain English the first time.
- Ask me before you assume anything about my business, my accounts or my setup.
- Stop and check with me before anything that costs money or spends credits (a paid plan, a Kling, Higgsfield or HeyGen generation, a big Ahrefs pull). Tell me the cost first.
- Stop and check with me before anything that reaches a real customer: a text, an email, a call, a change to a live ad or a budget.
- Stop and check with me before you delete or overwrite anything.
- Never print, copy or ask me for a key, token or password. The sign-ins happen in my browser.

The list: the job, the tool, the link

This is the manual way: every tool, every step, every price. Claude follows it too. Here's the short version first.

Words you'll see

  • Claude Code: Claude running on your computer, in a folder, where it can use other tools for you. It comes with the paid Claude plans.
  • Terminal: the text window where you type commands. On a Mac it's the app called Terminal.
  • MCP (connector): a cable that lets Claude use another app with your login. You add it once with one command, then sign in in your browser.
  • OAuth: that browser sign-in. You approve the connection on the tool's own site, so you never paste a password or key into Claude.
  • CLI: a command-line tool. Higgsfield and HeyGen hand Claude Code one of these instead of a connector.
  • Credits: what Kling, Higgsfield and HeyGen charge per image or video. Ahrefs calls its version API units.
  • CLAUDE.md: a rules file in your folder that Claude reads at the start of every session.

Step 1: Claude Code

  1. Get a paid Claude plan

Claude Code comes with every paid plan; the free plan doesn't include it. Pro is $20 a month billed monthly (checked 2026-10-29). That's what I'd start on.

  2. Install Claude Code

Open Terminal, paste this, and press Enter. It shows no progress while it downloads. When it's done, open a new terminal window and check the version. On Windows, open WSL and run the same thing.

    bashInstall (macOS, Linux, WSL)
    curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash
    # open a NEW terminal window, then:
    claude --version
PermissionsThe first time you run claude, it opens your browser to log in to your Claude account.
  3. Make your folder and write the rules

Run the three lines from Start here to make ~/ai-stack and start Claude in it. Then save this as CLAUDE.md in that folder (or ask Claude to write it from this box). It's what keeps Claude from texting a customer or spending credits without asking.

    markdownCLAUDE.md
    # My AI stack

This folder is where I ask Claude about my business: leads and texts (GoHighLevel), call notes (Fireflies),
SEO (Ahrefs), ads (Pipeboard), and ad creative (Kling, Higgsfield, HeyGen).

    ## Read first, act second
    - Default to read-only. Look things up, sum them up, draft things. Don't send, change or generate until I say yes.

    ## Always stop and ask me before
    - Sending a text or email, or changing a contact, a tag or a pipeline stage in GoHighLevel.
    - Sharing a Fireflies meeting with anyone, or changing who can see it.
    - Changing an ad, an ad set, a campaign or a budget, or pausing or turning anything on in Pipeboard.
    - Any Kling, Higgsfield or HeyGen generation. Tell me the model, the length and the credits first.
    - Any Ahrefs pull bigger than one site and 50 rows (each call uses API units).
    - Deleting or overwriting any file.

    ## Never
    - Never print, copy or open a key, token or password.
    - Never make up a number, a review or a customer. If you don't have it, say so.
    - Never use anyone's face or voice but mine.

Step 2: Connect the tools

Do these in any order and skip the ones you don't use. Run each command in Terminal from inside ~/ai-stack (type cd ~/ai-stack first), so the connector lands in that folder. Then start claude, type /mcp, pick the tool, and sign in in the browser window it opens.

  1. GoHighLevel: the CRM and follow-up texts

Wheregohighlevel.com/pricing (14-day free trial on every listed plan)

HighLevel's own connector for Claude is called LeadConnector. It signs in with OAuth, so you don't make a token.

    bashAdd LeadConnector
claude mcp add --transport http leadconnector https://services.leadconnectorhq.com/mcp/anthropic/v2
PermissionsOn the sign-in you pick which sub-account (which company) Claude can see and approve what it can do. That connection stays tied to the sub-account you picked. HighLevel asks for a confirmation on sensitive and irreversible actions, and your CLAUDE.md makes Claude ask you before any text goes out.
  2. Fireflies: notes on your calls

    Wherefireflies.ai/pricing (there's a free plan)

Fireflies runs its connector at https://api.fireflies.ai/mcp and signs in with your Fireflies account. Some of its tools only read (transcripts, summaries); others act, like sharing a meeting, which is why CLAUDE.md says to ask first.

    bashAdd Fireflies
claude mcp add --transport http fireflies https://api.fireflies.ai/mcp
PermissionsClaude can read the meetings your Fireflies account can see. Those are your calls with customers and your team, so keep this folder on your own computer.
  3. Ahrefs: what the competitor ranks for

Whereahrefs.com/pricing (the connector needs Lite or higher)

Every time Claude asks Ahrefs something, it uses API units: at least 50 a call. Lite comes with 200,000 a month. Keep asks small (one site, 20 to 50 rows) and you won't feel it.

    bashAdd Ahrefs
claude mcp add ahrefs https://api.ahrefs.com/mcp/mcp -t http
PermissionsThe sign-in asks you to pick your Ahrefs workspace and click Allow.
  4. Pipeboard: ask how the ads are doing

    Wherepipeboard.co (there's a free plan)

First make a Pipeboard account and connect your Meta ad account inside Pipeboard. Then add the connector. Running Google Ads too? Same pattern, second line.

bashAdd Meta Ads (and Google Ads if you run them)
claude mcp add meta-ads-mcp --transport http https://meta-ads.mcp.pipeboard.co/
    # only if you run Google Ads:
claude mcp add google-ads-mcp --transport http https://google-ads.mcp.pipeboard.co/
PermissionsOAuth: you sign in to Pipeboard, no token. Pipeboard can read and change your ads, so CLAUDE.md tells Claude never to touch a budget, a campaign or an ad without your yes.
  5. Kling: animated ads

Kling's connector, straight from Kling's own guide. After you add it, type /mcp in Claude and finish the Kling sign-in.

    bashAdd Kling
claude mcp add --transport http klingai --scope user https://kling.ai/mcp
Permissions--scope user makes Kling available in every folder on your computer, not just this one. Every video it makes spends Kling credits.
  6. Higgsfield: ad images and videos

Wherehiggsfield.ai/pricing (connecting an AI tool needs a paid plan)

In Claude Code, Higgsfield's route is its command-line tool, not a connector. It installs with npm, which comes with Node.js: if Terminal says npm: command not found, install Node.js from nodejs.org first.

    bashInstall and log in
    npm i -g @higgsfield/cli
    higgsfield auth login
PermissionsThe login opens your browser. Higgsfield's help says every generation through an AI tool takes credits, whatever your plan, and its unlimited and free generations only apply on higgsfield.ai itself.
  7. HeyGen: videos of you without filming

HeyGen also hands Claude Code a command-line tool. Install it and log in through the browser. Making the avatar itself (your photo, your voice) is its own setup: my HeyGen guide walks through all of it, with a dry run before every render.

    bashInstall, log in, check
    curl -fsSL https://static.heygen.ai/cli/install.sh | bash
    heygen auth login --oauth
    heygen auth status
PermissionsOnly ever your own face and voice. The login is saved on your computer: never share it or show it on screen.
  8. Check what's connected

In Terminal, claude mcp list shows every connector and whether it's working. Inside Claude, /mcp shows the same and lets you sign in again.

    bashList the connectors
    cd ~/ai-stack
    claude mcp list

First test: free and read-only

Start with the two that have free plans, Fireflies and Pipeboard (the free Pipeboard plan gives you 30 tool runs a week). Start claude in ~/ai-stack and paste this. Nothing gets sent, changed or generated.

PromptPrompt: the free test
Read-only test, change nothing:
1. From Fireflies, list my last 3 meetings: the title, the date and a one-line summary of each.
2. From Pipeboard, show my active Meta campaigns and what each spent in the last 7 days.
Then tell me which connectors you can see right now, and which ones you can't.

Good: real meeting titles and real campaign names from your accounts, and a list of the connectors it can see. Bad: it says it has no Fireflies or Pipeboard tools. Then that connector isn't loaded: check you started claude inside ~/ai-stack, type /mcp, and sign in again.

Real use: the questions I'd start with

Fill in the parts in angle brackets. Every one of these reads and drafts first, and waits for you.

Prompt1. Leads nobody texted back (GoHighLevel)
From LeadConnector, find the leads that came in over the last 2 days and haven't had a reply from us. Show me a table: when they came in, the service they asked about, and the last message. Draft a short follow-up text for each in my voice. Don't send anything; wait for my yes on each one.
Prompt2. What I promised on calls (Fireflies)
From Fireflies, go through my meetings from yesterday. Give me every promise or next step: who said it, what it was, and by when. Then a to-do list for me, sorted by deadline. Read only.
Prompt3. What the competitor ranks for (Ahrefs)
Using Ahrefs, show me up to 20 Google searches where <competitor.com> ranks in the top 10 and <mysite.com> doesn't, for the US. Keep it to one pull. Then pick the 3 that look like real jobs for a <roofing> company in <my area>, and tell me what page I'd need for each.
Prompt4. How the ads did this week (Pipeboard)
From Pipeboard, compare my Meta campaigns for the last 7 days against the 7 days before: spend, leads and cost per lead. Point out anything that changed a lot. Read only: don't pause, edit or change any budget.
Prompt5. An ad idea, priced first (Kling or Higgsfield)
Write me 3 short ad ideas for <roof replacement> in <my area>, one line each, no claims or numbers I didn't give you. After I pick one, tell me which model you'd use, how long the video is, and what it costs in credits. Generate nothing until I say yes.
Prompt6. A landing page (Claude Code)
Build a one-page landing page for <service> in <town> as one HTML file in this folder: the headline, what we do, the area we serve and a call button for <my office number>. No reviews, customers or numbers I didn't give you. Show it to me before you change anything else.

What it costs

Checked 2026-10-29 on each tool's pricing page. Fireflies' and Higgsfield's pricing pages only load in a browser, so their prices are from each company's own pricing article (Fireflies, July 2026; Higgsfield, October 2026), and Kling's are from its own credit guide (July 2026). Prices change: check before you buy.
ToolPlan I'd start onMonthly, list priceGood to know
Claude CodeClaude Pro$20 (or $17 a month billed yearly, $200 up front)The free plan doesn't include Claude Code. Max starts at $100.
GoHighLevelStarter$97 (or $970 a year)14-day free trial. Phone numbers, texts, calls and emails are billed by usage on top.
FirefliesFree, then Pro$0; Pro $18 per seat (or $10 billed yearly)Free stores 400 minutes per team. Business is $29 per seat ($19 billed yearly).
AhrefsLite (the first plan with the connector)$129200,000 API units a month; each call uses at least 50. Starter ($29) doesn't list the connector. Ahrefs Free covers your own site.
HeyGenCreator$29 (or $24 a month billed yearly)600 credits a month. Free gives 3 watermarked videos a month, up to 1 minute each.
HiggsfieldStarter$15200 credits a month. Plus is $49 (1,000 credits), Ultra $129 (3,000). Using it from Claude takes a paid plan and always spends credits.
KlingStandard$6.99 the first month, then $8.80660 credits a month. Basic is free with no monthly credits. Plan credits last a month; bought credits last 2 years.
PipeboardFree, then Pro$0; Pro $29.90Free: 30 tool runs a week and 2 ad accounts. Pro: unlimited runs, 3 ad accounts. Yearly costs the same as 10 months.
All of the aboveEvery plan above on monthly billing (Fireflies Pro, Kling after its first month)About $317My math from the prices above. You don't need all of them on day one.

Where I'd start if money's tight: Claude Pro, Fireflies Free and Pipeboard Free. That's $20 a month and it already answers what happened on your calls and how your ads did. Add the CRM, SEO and video tools when you've got a job for them.

When it breaks

claude: command not found
Open a new terminal window after installing. Still missing? The install folder isn't on your PATH yet: Claude Code's install help has the fix (linked in Sources).
Claude says it doesn't have a tool you connected
Most connectors here were added to the ~/ai-stack folder only. Start claude from inside that folder. Then type /mcp: if the tool says it needs a sign-in, pick it and sign in again.
A connector shows as failed in claude mcp list
Remove it and add it again: claude mcp remove <name>, then the add command from Step 2, then /mcp to sign in.
Fireflies answers with a 405 or 410 error
That's the old connection type, which Fireflies retired. Remove it and add it again with --transport http, exactly as in Step 2.
GoHighLevel only sees one company
Each connection is tied to the sub-account you picked on the sign-in. To switch, type /mcp, sign in to LeadConnector again and pick the other one.
Ahrefs won't connect
The connector needs Lite or higher. Starter and Ahrefs Free don't list it.
Higgsfield won't log in, or every image costs credits
Using Higgsfield from an AI tool needs a paid plan, and every generation through Claude spends credits, even on plans with unlimited generations on higgsfield.ai.
Pipeboard stops answering midweek
The free plan allows 30 tool runs a week. Wait for the week to reset or move to Pro. Also check your Meta ad account is still connected inside Pipeboard.
Claude tries to text a lead or change an ad without asking
It isn't reading CLAUDE.md. Start claude from inside ~/ai-stack and keep the “Always stop and ask me before” section.
You want a tool gone
claude mcp remove <name> removes it from Claude Code. To cut off its access completely, also disconnect Claude in that tool's own settings.

That's the list

Seven jobs, a tool for each, and they'll give you your evenings back, right up until the phone rings at 7 PM and somebody still has to pick it up.

Want a floor that picks it up? That's our call center buildout.
